Tips on Recruiting Childcare #2

I've had pretty good success recruiting at our regional committee/leader weekend.. Areas that didn't have YoungLives and were either considering starting it or just had a couple women who wanted to be involved would send a few women to camp as childcare.

Also, committee & mentors make great childcare, too... committee members get to see & experience what camp is all about, and older mentors can still come to camp without doing all the physical activity that is involved with being a leader.

And don't forget that parents can bring their 14-year old kids! Makes for a fun way for a family to serve together without going out of the country.

  1. Camp childcare must be a resounding success! Just the idea of mentors and students working harmoniously together must have earned you kudos from your members. Childcare has really grown in leaps and bounds from the daycare centers of old. I just read in this link- Daycare that the creative arts, including music, movement, dramatic play, puppetry, painting, sculpture, and drawing, are a crucial part of early childhood. Not only do the arts allow children to express themselves, but creative activity can enhance development of children's skills in literacy, science, math, social studies, and more. My hats off to you!
