• Have a girl come up & use a sketch pad and draw her favorite actor. Then after she is done have girls guess who that actor is…Many of you did not think that looked like Tom Cruise but as she was drawing that she was picturing exactly what Tom Cruise is to her. *
• My daughter’s class was given a project this week to take a cut out of a body and make it look like them. I had such a fun time watching and listening to her explain why the eyes needed to be blue and the hair yellow and to see the clothes that she picked to look like her..I know you want to see the final project so first I will show you a picture of my daughter and then her perfect view of her ..Ready…
• I think we all have misconception of lots of things. Who we think we are and what we look like, who others appear to be and what they look like inside, maybe even what we think it takes to be successful in a world that is not always kind to young moms.
• My mom delivered my brother when she was 15 pregnant at 14 and she went on to own a very successful business and live in a large home and I always hear people ask her how she did it. She will tell you that it is only because of the grace of God.
• This past summer at camp we had to share with our cabin our best and worst days in our lives and I remembered sharing that my cousin who was also my babysitter for the day decided to attempt suicide when she was supposed to be watching me. At 6yrs old I had to think like an adult as my cousin lay still on the floor, after taking I don’t know how many pills and locking the phone in the bathroom, I prayed for Gods help then I went to the neighbors and eventually ambulance arrived and my family.

• I believe the best way to truly find the answer is to turn to the Bible and not just believe what our parents may have said, your family told you or our church but really get to the source of the truth and get rid of any misconceptions we have believed. One of the ways we will do this throughout this year is by looking at the life of Jesus because it says that in John 1:1-14 this says he made everything nothing exists that he did not make and yet he came to earth and most did not recognize Him.
• I know in my own life I get distracted. I received my phone bill and realized I was on the phone for over 4,000 minutes that is 66.666 hours and you don’t even want to know how many text messages I sent. When I read this I realized that I could be guilty of what verse 10 says “although He made the world the world did not recognize Him when He came” You see I believe with my whole heart that my life is only what it is because of God and so I am excited this year to take a little time each month and figure out what that looks like as different mentors share what that looks like in their lives, what that looks like in the Bible, and what that may look like in your own life.
• As you drive home tonight or maybe when your brushing your teeth for bed I would challenge you to see what or how you would describe God maybe even tell your driver and if He came to earth what would that look like and would you recognize Him when He came to visit you. Let’s pray.
